about
A couple of years back we were running the Club Sporadic in Loughborough on a semi-regular/somewhat erratic (as befits the name) basis and one of the bands we managed to get to play for us – we had no money, just idealism and stubbornness – was Market Harborough’s finest, Black Carrot. There was an empathy between us – small provincial Midland towns breed perhaps a perverse mentality for those who embark on the thankless but emotionally fruitful journeys into experimental music. Plus that idealism – and stubbornness. It takes one to know one. Some time later Oliver Betts of BC invited Plexus – by this time we had coalesced into the almost permanent lineup that still (Sporadically) exists – myself (Rod Warner), Murray Ward, with whom I had started out on the journey with Sporadic and Plexus, and David Teledu (A Bander/musical visionary) who turned up on one of the first gigs – and stayed ever since – to come down to the Harborough and do some informal recording at his home studio. Duly we set off one Saturday morning and spent the day there. The result of that afternoon is here, resurrected by Murray W into a new mix. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Maybe you enjoy the results…
